CASO art.science.movement - PROFILE

CASO art.science.movement is a non-profit cultural association with the aim to contribute to shape the young European's consciousness. CASO (pron. ['kazo]) stays for "randomness" in Italian. CASO was founded in July 2006, starting from the experience of the informal group CASOart European Artists' Collective, which was born on July 2004. CASO has around 200 members and headquarter is based in Terme Euganee, Venice Area, Italy.
The association's main fields are contemporary arts, avant-garde science and movement through outdoor or indoor activities. Keywords to understand CASO are: interdisciplinarity, internationality, accessibility, multimedia. Key concept, as the name of the association says, is that of casualty. Coincidences can build new relationships, wrapped in emotions and atypical sensations compared to usual perception. An extraordinary flux of energies, which can lead to the raise and birth of new projects and to the modification of old situations.

Experience in Art and Science
CASO art.science.movement is a precursor in this interdisciplinary crossroad, both due to the personal development of the artists forming the CASOart European Artists' Collective (e.g. Francesco Sambo, Louk Van Kalmthout, Vivì Bertin, Gruppo Sinestetico) both through the activities of the CASO management, taking part to international conferences (Muthamorphosis, Prague 2007; Interactivos, Spain 2008; EU Commission B2B event on SiS, Bruxelles 2009). CASO is experienced in hosting several festivals focused on the intersection between art and science (mainly but not only nanotechnology) as the .Other Borders (2007) and the Beyond Other Borders festivals (2008).
